Who We Are

Ellijay Excursions is a veteran-owned transportation company in Ellijay, Georgia. We live and work in the heart of Gilmer County wine country, tucked between four vineyards in the beautiful mountains of Ellijay, Georgia.

Sit back and enjoy the scenery while you sample local wines, apple cider, local brews, our famous apple cider donuts, farm fresh ice cream and more! Our driver, Benjamin Grimmer, is a certified personal security professional with 12 years in the wine industry.

Specialties

We offer wine tasting tours at the 10 vineyards around our home in Ellijay, GA. We work in the wine industry and our driver has a degree in environmental science and is certified in personal security. We specialize in transportation for wine and brewery/cider tours, apple and farm tours, antique tours, event shuttles, wedding and venue shuttle, private, custom and group tours of all types.

History

Our driver, Ben, worked for Willamette Valley Vineyards in Oregon for 12 years and his wife ran equestrian tours around the world as well as whiskey tours of Ireland for many years. We will work hard to give you the best experience.

Meet Ben

Ben is a US Marine who has worked in the wine industry for 12 years. He is certified in personal security and is licensed and insured. Ben lives in the middle of Georgia Wine Country and loves taking visitors around to see our vineyards, taste the wine, learn about the process and meet the people making the wine. Ben owns a brand new 14 passenger Ford Transit with high ceilings and big windows to take in the stunning North Georgia mountains. Ask him to stop for homemade Ice Cream or pre-order a Charcuterie platter!
